Description:

Of cylindrical form with a central band intricately detailed with a continuous scene of ladies and attendants at leisure in a lakeside garden with trees laden with golden fruit. In their hands are fans; these, their hair ornaments and their costumes all enriched with gold decoration; jewel-like, one group clusters under the laden fruit trees, while two further ladies look on from the lakeside edge. Rimmed in gold, and framed, above and below by a wide band of fine white glazed honeycomb openwork, the shoulder with a rich band of flowers in green, gold, brown and red, picked out in gold below a further band of iron red and gold curlwork, the rim painted with a thick gold band, the crackled white glazed base beneath another band of gold and iron red curl work, the footrim painted in gold with an incised red line, the makers cartouches underneath.
