Description:

of archaic Gu form, each vase square sectioned, with raised central four-sided boss, with broad flat footrim and collared neck rim, the upper and lower body decorated on each side with a panel of three stiff feathers, facing up in the upper section and down in the lower section, the central panels each with a quatrefoil cartouche containing, in Vase One, emblematic symbols, two triangular alternating with two oval, reserved on a trellis diaper ground, and in Vase Two with four censers, the cartouches decorated with in Vase One scatterings of swastika and flower emblems, and in Vase Two with swastika emblems, the footrim decorated with a thin double blue bandings, the neck with a band of curl work below a cross hatch band of diamond work, the base unglazed. Later fitted wooden stands.
