Literature
See Porcelain of the East India Company by Michel Beurdeley, 1962, p. 43, pl. 8 for an almost identical example but without its présentoir. Beurdeley discusses and suggests that these were made for the Portuguese market.
For another almost identical example with its présentoir see Svenskt Ostindiska Kompanierna 1731-1813, Kryddor/ Te/ Porslin/ Siden, by Sven T Kjellberg, published 1974, p. 242. The provenance of this example is that it comes from an old castle in the south of Sweden where it still remains.
