The deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot and with lotus petal moulded detail, decorated in shades of underglaze blue, the lower half painted to the exterior with peony blooms and leafy tendrils contained within raised petal shaped panels, the upper half decorated with wide cartouches each containing a different large well painted flower including peony, chrysanthemum and lotus, each surrounded by leafy tendrils, the interior rim painted with a wide band of floral scroll, the well painted with a single large chrysanthemum bloom within double lines in underglaze blue, the base glazed and with a lingzhi fungus within double lines in underglaze blue, with later silver mounts dated 6th September 1857.
