Of round shape, with steep curving sides and subtle foliate rim, raised on a short circular foot, decorated in bright shades of underglaze blue, painted to the exterior with large panels bordered by bands of scroll-work, each enclosing a scene of figures in a river landscape, including a scholar and boy and fishing boats, interspersed with narrow panels of Iznik-style tulips, the well of the bowl is decorated with a lady spooling silk, the interior wall with further broad panels of figures in a river landscape interspersed with broad bands of tulips each divided by narrow panels of tulips, the base glazed.
